Alright this could be one of the stupidest things I ever attempt but I am
gonna try and start a blog as it seems to be the 'in' thing on the net, and far
be it for me to jump on a populist band wagon, but i'm gonna give it a go. If nothing
else it will provide regular, how regular remains to be seen, fresh content on the
site. As one great web developer and friend, once told me 'content is key'!, alright
it was this earlier this week. Enjoy.
Sunday 23rd January '05
Wow keeping thing up to date is gonna be harder than I thought Ive put it off for
an age now so though I better try and write something. Had a wicked christmas in colorado
skiing and falling down the mountains, and it was warm almost too warm a welcome change.
Have uploaded the pics if you care to have a look. That took up most of my holiday and didn't
get to see many people either side of it but it was a very welcome break from work. I was
back to that only a few days after New Years in my deserted flat, but slowly people started
to filter back, and its been back in full swing for a week now. We finished another moudule,
setting up a business and have entered it into a competition will keep you posted on this,
should do quite well. It snowed here yesterday night but was all gone by the time I got up this
morning pathetic, hopefully there will be more soon. Will try and post sooner if work doesnt get
in the way!
Friday 10th December '04
Just finished an intensive week of lectures 0930 till 1800 everyday, but it went
pretty quick, the module is Enterprise and Distributed Systems, its been a lot of business
speak but that's a welcome change from Computer Science and quite enjoyed it. It was also
at a different place so welcome change of scene, from the drab class room we are normally in.
We have to come up with a business idea in our group, and pretty much launch it, so could
be pretty fruitful, as for the idea well thats a trade secret at the moment but will be
revealed shortly. Flatmate is cooking me dinner tonight so should be a good evening once I
get back from work.
Saturday 4th December '04
Finally got a proper nights sleep I have been working on a University Project
all week, a new portal system based on Semantic Web technologies, the Internet 2.0 to
most people. Played football for John's, my college this morning and it was the usual
story 5-1 defeat to Eustinov College, the graduate college, where I would be if I hadn't
chosen Johns. I was in goal so probably should take a large share of the blame, but I got
injured in the second half, landed on my shoulder funny and had to come off, typically
after that they didnt have a shot on goal!! I was injured for the last two they scored.
Friday 26th November '04
Here is the first entry in my web blog, think i'll stick to the relative highlights
which today was definitely my first trip to the Durham Gala Cinema, to see The Incredibles
which was frankly incredible, quite possible the best pixar yet. Watch out for Elastigirl
using her special powers in ingenious ways, it superb. But I also had a my weekly shift as
lab assistant and muddled my way through 2 hrs of explaining proof by Induction and
substitution as I struggled to wake up. Now to do some real work.
